About The Author


Stacey Abrams is a politician, lawyer, and author from Georgia who served as the minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017. She is the first African American woman to serve in this capacity, as well as the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly.


Abrams is also the founder of Fair Fight Action, a voting rights organization that works to promote fair elections and increase voter participation. In 2018, she ran for governor of Georgia, becoming the first African American woman to be nominated for governor by a major party in the United States. Although she lost her bid for governor, her campaign received national attention, and she became a prominent figure in the Democratic Party.


Abrams is a published author in addition to her political work. She has published several novels under the pen name Selena Montgomery, as well as nonfiction books on leadership and social justice.
