Argan tree nuts

Native to Morocco, argan oil has often been used for culinary purposes, but over the last 20 years, people have used this rare and precious oil to unlock its benefits for maintaining healthy hair. More so, it is a Holy Grail of nutrients for those rockin' natural hairstyles.

What is Argan Oil

Argan oil is a truly scarce and valuable item for hair care. It is derived from the kernel of the Argan tree. Because it is mostly found in Sous Valley in southwestern Morocco, the oil is commonly referred to as "Moroccan oil." Because of its restricted, particular growth regions and exceedingly low output per tree, this oil is respected as a precious mineral. More so, a total output of 8 trees is required to make a single liter of Argan oil! The Argan Tree is exceptionally resistant to drought and adverse weather conditions and yields fruit with oil-rich nuts. Locals collect these nuts in order to extract the oil from the kernels.

Cold Pressing of Argan Oil

The integrity of the oil's fatty acids, vitamins, penols (including caffeic acid), and carotene is preserved greatly when extracted with the method of cold-pressing. These nutrients are the foundation of the ingredients that make argan oil essential to a good hair care routine.

A Miracle Ingredient

Argan oil contains several vital fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that moisturize and protect your hair and skin from sun damage. It is fully biodegradable and devoid of chemicals and parabens. Argan oil is so pure that it may even be eaten. Argan oil contains a high concentration of natural vitamin E, Omega 9, Omega 6, and other vital fatty acids. Vitamin E stimulates hair development by improving the health of hair follicles. Omega fatty acids have been found to aid with hair strengthening and general health.

Additionally, argan oil has a non-greasy texture when applied topically, and it has gained prominence as a hair treatment for restoring and healing damaged hair. It has the potential to naturally moisturize and help prevent frizziness, fly-away hair, and difficult-to-control, unmanageable hair.

It is fantastic for retaining moisture and increasing shine and gloss. With its small particle structure,  argan oil has been demonstrated to penetrate the hair roots and boost follicular flexibility and nutrition nearly instantaneously. It is also reported to be effective in the treatment of psoriasis.

There Are Many Ways To Use Argan Oil

  • Shampoo

You may find a variety of shampoos with argan oil as the major component at your local beauty supply store. However, make sure to look for paraben and sulfate-free shampoos. Washing your hair weekly 1-2 times will insure you reap the benefits of this awesome oil.

  • Hair Mask

Make an overnight mask by combining argan oil with carrier oils such as coconut or castor oil. Massage a few drops into your scalp and hair for 3-5 minutes, or until every hair strand on your head is coated from root to tip. Wrap your hair in a hair wrap or du-rag and sleep with it on. In the morning, wash it out and proceed with your normal styling routine.

  • Leave-in Conditioner

If your hair is dry, it might be an excellent way to restore moisture. After showering or soaking your hair, apply a few drops to your scalp and ends to condition, moisturize, and reduce frizz. Wrap your hair and leave it on overnight to wake up with soft, radiant strands.

  • Scalp Treatment

If you have dandruff, hair loss, or a dry scalp, using argan oil can help improve the overall health of your scalp. Part your hair into four equal sections and thoroughly massage the oil into each section. Unlike a hair mask, only apply the oil to your scalp. Massage the oil into your scalp for 5-10 minutes. This will increase blood circulation and aid in the balance of oil production in the scalp. Allow the oil to sit for an additional 10 minutes.  After that, rinse with shampoo. If your scalp is sensitive, repeat this treatment 1-2 times weekly, and then less frequently as your scalp's health improves.

  • Styling and Heat Protection

Argan oil may be used as a styling gel to help reduce frizz and breakage. It also guards against heat damage to your hair. Apply two to three drops of Argan oil lightly to clean, dry hair. The goal is to create a light layer of argan oil on the surface of your hair. Then, style as usual.
